Curcumin Compounds can be Used to Develop New Anticancer Drugs
Recently, a team of researchers has successfully developed curcumin compounds with anticancer activity. The research results have been published in the electronic edition of Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin. A new anticancer drug is expected to be developed.
Jiang Huanghan's curcumin has the effects of anti acidification, anti-inflammatory and anticancer. However, curcumin is difficult to be absorbed by the intestine and magnolol is mostly excreted. In this regard, one team developed a micro powder particle type of theracurmin, which increased the absorption rate by 27 times, and the improvement of liver function was also confirmed. However, when taken orally, the concentration of effective components with anti-cancer effect has not been fully improved in the blood.
Based on the above research, the team developed a new curcumin product and injected it to the colon cancer test mice. The results showed that the concentration of effective components in the blood increased by about 1000 times, and the anticancer effect was confirmed, while the test rats did not have side effects such as weight loss.
Professor hang Gu said it is expected to develop it into a small side - effect anticancer drug, and in animal experiments, it is also beneficial to the effects of living habits, inflammatory diseases and the treatment of diseases other than cancer.
