Hyaluronic Acid Aesthetic Applications

Since the early 2000s, hyaluronic acid has been used in aesthetic medicine as an injectable wrinkle filling product. Products based on hyaluronic acid such as Teosyal (laboratoryTeoxane), Restylane (Galderma-Q-Med laboratory) or Surgiderm (Allergan laboratory) are used by doctors to replace collagen because hyaluronic acid reduces the risk of allergies and lasts longer (three to 12 months) 13. The fact that it is absorbable makes it possible to avoid definitive accidents.

Hyaluronic acid is now commonly used as an ingredient in beauty products because of its moisturizing properties. Some laboratories have developed anti-wrinkle creams based on hyaluronic acid, the efficacy of which is also discussed 14, 15.

The aesthetic applications of hyaluronicacid injections are today very varied. Hyaluronic acid is commonly used to fill dark circles and wrinkles on the face, but it can also be used in addition to botulinum toxin to treat deep wrinkles. Its use is effective to fill wrinkles, restore volume or moisturize some areas of the face and body.

The main areas of the face treated are the nasolabial folds, wrinkles of the forehead, the wrinkles of the lion, the contour of the lips and dark circles as well as several areas of the body like the penis, buttocks, and female genitals or other areas of the body or face missing volume.
